MarI feel very Olympic!
The olympics touched my life briefly for only 5 days after I got back from Nica. Like a lot of canadians, I think I wasn’t aware of just how patriotic I am. The Olympics brought it out in all of us. I ate, slept and day dreamed in two colors. The two colours i know so well…. red and white. It was everywhere. It was magical yet chaotic. I’m both relieved and sad its all over. It was pure craziness! People crammed on the streets and buses, line ups outside every restaurant and bar. It was impossible for locals to function. My apartment was crammed with guests. A little bed and breakfast minus the breakfast. It was nice having company but I am glad to have order back in my life. My work was nuts! I’m so glad its slowing down…. well I hope! I was downtown yesterday and it was still fairly busy. Hopefully by next month it’ll be a little bit more laid back. The most amazing experience was the Men’s Canadian Gold Metal game! I’ve never seen so many Canadians come together! Its a moment when we can set aside our differences, our races, and our religion and all become one. To live in the host city during the olympics was a once in a life time chance and I wouldn’t trade it for the world!
